Research to understanding Acne Rosacea better

Its is estimated that there’s some 30 million North Americans suffering with varying degrees of Acne Rosacea and with also an estimated 14 million Americans going improperly diagnosed with the condition.

There are currently several research projects ongoing investigating into the relationship between Acne Rosacea and the Demodex Mite’s presence on the human skin.

Who Suffer From Acne More? Men or Women

A new study by dermatologist Julie C. Harper to see whether acne is more prevalent in Men or Women has revealed that Women have a higher likelyhood of suffering with the condition.

The study involved surveying a total of 1,013 men and women aged 20 years and older.

Honey as an acne treatment?

A microbiologist Shona Blair at Sydney University has been researching the sticky substance for the last 10 years has found that even in small concentrations honey is effective at killing off a wide range of bacteria, even of the superbugs variety.

Dr Blair and colleagues have also found honey kills off bacteria that cause tetanus, wound botulism and scar-forming acne.
